Saddar and the old centre hold the long-established halls — cheaper and more central, but with street parking that does not work for 400 guests. Clifton and DHA offer banquet halls and hotel ballrooms rather than independent halls, at a different price level entirely. North Nazimabad, Gulistan-e-Johar and Malir serve their own neighbourhoods, and for most families that proximity beats a bigger name across the city.

Expect Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,500 per head for a standard dinner at an independent hall, and Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,000 where the property is newer or the menu adds live counters. Hall rent, where it is charged separately, runs Rs 80,000 to Rs 3.5 lakh. Halls in PECHS and Bahadurabad comfortably seat 200 to 400; the larger Gulshan and Shahrah-e-Faisal properties handle 600 upwards. Most hold a date against a 30 to 50 percent advance with the balance due a few days before the function.

A hall makes more sense than a marquee in Karachi for two local reasons. It is sealed, so April to June humidity and July to August rain stop being your problem, and it is inside the city, so Clifton and DHA guests are not driving an hour each way to Scheme 33. Against that, check the generator honestly: Karachi's cooling load is unforgiving and a hall that falls back to lights-only will empty within twenty minutes. Confirm whether service charge and sales tax sit on top of the quoted per-head rate, ask for the closing time in writing, and avoid Friday evenings, because post-Jumma traffic runs reliably an hour into your timeline.
