Guesthouse rooms in F-6 and F-7 sell out four to six weeks ahead through wedding season, October to March.
Murree has two peaks a year, the June to August heat escape and the late December snow rush, and rates roughly double in both.
Murree is the closest hill station to Islamabad and the busiest in the country, which shapes everything about staying there. Mall Road and Kashmir Point are where the older hotels sit, walkable to the shops and the viewpoints but noisy through peak weeks. Sunny Bank and Jhika Gali are on the approach road, cheaper and easier to park at, with a fifteen-minute walk or short ride up to the Mall. Patriata, about twenty kilometres further, is quieter, greener and has the chairlift.
Off-peak, a decent double runs Rs 7,000 to Rs 14,000 a night. In July, August and the snow weeks from late December to early February, the same room costs Rs 18,000 to Rs 30,000, and valley-view rooms at the better properties cross Rs 45,000. Two-night weekend minimums appear in both peaks. Confirm that the room genuinely faces the valley, since interior rooms at the same hotel are often half the price and are sometimes sold as equivalent.
The Murree Expressway covers the 60 kilometres from Islamabad in about two hours in normal conditions. On summer Saturdays and after the first heavy snowfall, add one to three hours of queueing between Ghora Gali and Sunny Bank. After the January 2022 snowstorm, the district administration now restricts entry when parking capacity is reached and turns back vehicles without chains or four-wheel drive during heavy snow, so check conditions with your hotel on the morning of arrival rather than assuming.
April, May, September and October are the underrated months. The same rooms cost close to half the peak rate, the walking is better, and Mall Road is usable rather than shoulder to shoulder. Bring warm layers even in summer, because evenings at 2,200 metres drop into single figures. Food prices on Mall Road climb steeply in peak weeks, so a full-board package often works out cheaper than eating out. Nathia Gali and Ayubia are an hour further and far quieter.
Most people start with Mall Road, Kashmir Point and Pindi Point +4 more. Where you stay in Murree changes the price more than the star rating does, so tell us the area you have in mind — or the reason you are travelling — and we will match you to the right part of town.

Heavy snowfall between late December and February can close the Expressway or trigger entry restrictions, and traffic police turn back vehicles without chains or four-wheel drive.
