How much does a Shogran hotel or cabin cost?

Can I drive my own car up to Shogran?

The eight-kilometre road from Kawai to the plateau is paved but steep and narrow, and small cars struggle when it is wet or crowded. Four-wheel drive and higher-clearance vehicles manage it comfortably. Many visitors park at Kawai and take a local jeep up for a few thousand rupees, which is the safer option in rain.

How do I get to Siri Paye from Shogran?

Only by jeep. The ten-kilometre track above the plateau is rough and unsuitable for ordinary cars. Expect Rs 3,500 to Rs 6,000 for a return trip per vehicle seating six, and agree the waiting time at the top before you leave. Go early in July and August, when the track queues by late morning.

Is Shogran a good alternative to Naran?

For a short trip, yes. It is two hours closer to Islamabad, rooms cost less, and the meadows at Siri Paye deliver a comparable view without the long valley drive. What it lacks is Naran's bazaar, restaurant choice and the Saif-ul-Malook and Lulusar circuit, which need the extra distance.

Is Shogran open in winter?

Partly. A handful of properties stay open through the winter and the plateau under snow is genuinely striking, but heavy falls can cut the access road for a day or two and the Siri Paye track shuts entirely. If you go between December and March, confirm heating, hot water and generator backup, and keep your return date flexible.
