Halls, not marquees, are what most Lahore families book inside the city. Gulberg and the Main Boulevard side carry the older established properties. Johar Town, Township and Wapda Town have the largest number of mid-range halls. Model Town and Cantt hold the quieter ones families use for nikkah and walima rather than barat, and the Fortress Stadium and Cavalry Ground belt sits closest to the DHA Phase 5 and Gulberg hotels, which matters when out-of-town relatives are staying there. Halls on Mall Road and around Anarkali are cheap and central, but they rely on street parking, and for 400 guests that is not a plan.

Sector-style halls in Johar Town and Township comfortably seat 200 to 400 guests; the larger Ferozepur Road and Ring Road properties handle 600 upwards. Expect Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,500 per head for a standard dinner and Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,000 where the hall is newer or the menu adds live counters, with hall rent, where it is billed separately, between Rs 80,000 and Rs 3.5 lakh. Most halls hold a date against a 30 to 50 percent advance and settle the balance a few days before the function.

Three questions are worth asking in Lahore specifically. How the hall handles the one-dish rule and the 10 pm licence deadline, because that sets your menu and your timeline. Whether the generator carries the air conditioning or only the lights — a hall holding 400 people in early October is a cooling load, not a lighting load. And how the approach works on a wedding-season Saturday: Ferozepur Road, Canal Road and Main Boulevard all back up between 8 and 10 pm, so a hall ten minutes away on a weekday can be forty on the night.
