Book Marquees in Islamabad

Islamabad is a sectored city with almost no spare land inside it, so every marquee is on the edge. Kuri Road, Park Road and Chak Shahzad form the belt closest to the F and G sectors. The Expressway towards Rawat, Bahria Town and DHA Phase 2 serve guests coming up from Rawalpindi, PWD and Saddar. Which belt you pick is a guest-travel decision more than a venue decision: a Kuri Road marquee is a short run from F-7 and a long one from Bahria Phase 4, and the reverse holds on the Expressway.

The season is October, November, February and March, and in Islamabad the marquee is only half the booking. Families here block entire guesthouses in F-6, F-7 and F-8 for relatives flying in, and those houses go four to six weeks out through the same months at Rs 8,000 to Rs 16,000 a night — so fix the marquee date and the rooms in one conversation rather than two months apart. Catering is roughly Rs 2,200 to Rs 4,500 per head with marquee rent between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh for a peak Saturday. Almost nothing here is quoted tax-inclusive, so add sales tax on services to whatever figure you are given.

Two checks are specific to this city. Heating: between November and February Islamabad is genuinely cold after dark and operators add gas heaters as a separate line, so ask for the unit count rather than the assurance. Weather: the belt from Kuri Road to Chak Shahzad is open ground, and March and April rain plus July and August monsoon showers make the side walls, the flooring and the generator's position matter far more than the roof. If relatives need hotel rooms in Blue Area, check the Jinnah Convention Centre calendar too, because conference weeks tighten availability there without warning.
