Carpentry requests fall into two groups. Small repairs, a sticking door in F-8, a broken drawer runner, a loose bed frame, cost Rs 1,500 to Rs 6,000 including the visit. Custom work is priced by the running foot: fitted wardrobes at Rs 3,500 to Rs 9,000 per square foot depending on the board and finish, and kitchen cabinets from Rs 4,500 per square foot upward.

Fabrication happens at a workshop in I-10, Sabzi Mandi or Saddar and takes ten days to four weeks, with installation on site over one or two days at the end.
The board matters more than the workmanship on price. Ask whether the quote is for local MDF, imported laminate board or solid wood, and get the brand named. Insist on the hardware brand for hinges and channels, since cheap runners fail within a year, and hold back 20 to 30 percent of the payment until installation is complete and checked.
