Box cricket is the default weeknight game in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Netted turf cages of roughly 100 by 50 feet sit along Park Road and Kuri Road, in G-13, I-14 and I-16, across Bahria Town Phase 7 and 8, in DHA Phase 2 and on the Rawalpindi side near Adiala Road and Chaklala. Off-peak hours start near Rs 4,000; weekday evenings and weekends run Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000.

The game is tape-ball, six or eight a side, usually two hours for a proper match with a break. Venues supply the ball and often a bat, but bring your own bats if your group cares about quality. Ask whether the quoted rate includes lights and the umpire, since some venues charge Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 extra for an umpire and scoring, which is worth it for a company or friends tournament.

The 8pm to 11pm block on weekdays is the busiest in the city and needs booking three to five days ahead at the well-known arenas. From May to August the late slots after 10pm are the most comfortable, and some venues run through to 2am. Groups that play every week should negotiate a monthly recurring slot; ten to fifteen percent off the hourly rate is normal.
