Full-size cricket in the Islamabad area runs on private academy grounds and club fields, mostly along Park Road and Chak Shahzad, in the Bahria Town and DHA belt, and across Rawalpindi around Adiala Road and Chaklala. Matting and astroturf wickets are the common option at Rs 8,000 to Rs 20,000 for a half-day match; proper turf wickets with a curator run Rs 25,000 to Rs 60,000 a day.

What separates grounds is the wicket and what comes with it. Ask whether the price includes rollers and pitch preparation, boundary markers, sight screens, an umpire, a scorer and match balls, because at the lower end you get the field only. Hard-ball cricket also needs a proper outfield; grounds that mainly host tape-ball games often have uneven surfaces that make fielding risky.

Weekend mornings from October to March are the prime slots and go three to four weeks ahead in club season. Summer play shifts to early morning starts before 8am or to floodlit grounds, of which there are a limited number. For a league or a corporate tournament across several weekends, book the full block at once; grounds price a season commitment noticeably below the per-match rate.
