Book Margalla Hills Hiking in Lahore

The Margalla trails start at the northern edge of the city, minutes from F-6 and F-9. Trail 5 from the Margalla Road head is the busiest and most straightforward, roughly ninety minutes up to Pir Sohawa. Trail 3 from F-6 is steeper and takes two to three hours to the viewpoint. Trail 6 from F-11 is longer and quieter, and Trail 4 links across the ridge for those wanting distance.

Guided hikes cost Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,500 per person including a guide, water and pickup from a central sector, with private group rates from Rs 8,000 to Rs 14,000. Sunrise departures start around 5.30 to 6 am in summer and 7 am in winter. Most operators cap groups at ten to fifteen so the pace stays manageable.

October to April is the comfortable window; May to September hikes should finish before 9 am. Wear proper shoes rather than joggers on Trail 3, carry at least a litre and a half of water per person, and note that leopard sightings, while rare, mean solo dusk hiking is discouraged. Confirm the trail head, since parking differs at each.
