For headshot days, plan the logistics rather than the photography. For events and conferences, specify the moments that matter, since a photographer left to their own judgement will shoot the venue and not your chairman. Agree deliverables in writing: number of edited images, whether a same-day selection is needed for social media, file format and resolution, usage rights for print and web, and delivery timeline, which should be one to two weeks.
