Most restaurants in Islamabad and Rawalpindi maintain a family section, and their quality varies more than the menu does. Screened cabins are standard in Saddar, Bahria Town and the older F-10 and G-9 restaurants. Newer venues in F-6, F-7 and E-11 tend toward an open family floor separated from the main dining area rather than closed cabins.

Family sections rarely cost more per head, running the same Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,500 as the main floor in 2026, but they fill faster on Friday and Saturday evenings and during Ramadan. Larger families of eight or more should book a cabin specifically, since the walk-in queue for cabins is longer than for open tables.

Ask whether the family area is a closed cabin, a curtained booth or an open floor, because families expect different things and the words are used loosely. Confirm high chairs if you have young children, check whether the section has its own washroom access, and ask about the noise level, since family floors near a play area can be loud.
